GREENâS GRANT â Thirty-one Gorham High School seniors enjoyed an in-person commencement at which they were awarded their diplomas at 6 p.m. on Friday evening at the base of Mount Washington, thanks to the generosity of the family-owned Auto Road and Great Glen.
This was the second-year in a row that a far more spectacular venue was used, so that attendees could enjoy the more relaxed social-distancing measures now considered suitable for COVID-19 when outdoors.
The Gorham Police Department, the Sheriffâs Department, Gorham Fire and EMS, and state police escorted the Class of 2021 motorized parade with three vehicles allowed to accompany each family, starting north of town, through downtown, and then turning south on Route 16 to an unpaved parking lot.

MONTICELLO â Twin Lakes fell behind early and couldn t come back in a 17-3 baseball loss to West Lafayette on Tuesday.
It was the second loss to the Red Devils in as many days. The Indians also lost 5-4 a day earlier in the first of a home-and-home matchup with West Lafayette.
The Red Devils scored the bulk of their runs â nine â in the fifth and final inning to invoke the 10-run rule.
Twin Lakes managed just four hits â all singles â from Clayton Bridwell, CJ Brummett, Reece Arthur and Tristan Robertson.
Dailan Reece took the loss on the mound for the Indians, giving up eight runs on 10 hits. He struck out three and walked one in three innings of work. Allen Miller yielded six runs on four hits, one strikeout and two walks in 1 1/3 innings of relief, and Sam Smolek allowed three runs on a hit, while striking out one and walking three in just one-third of an inning.

February 17, 2021BENNINGTON The Gorham alpine boys skied to a fifth place finish overall at the Division IV championships, held last Monday, Feb. 8, at Crotched Mountain in Bennington.
In the morning giant slalom, it was Nolan York leading the charge for the Huskies with a time of 1:11.64 for 11th place overall.
Teegan LeClerc finished in a time of 1:13.65 for 18th place, while Lex Mayerson was the third Husky finisher, placing 21st in 1:14.3.

February 11, 2021LINCOLN The Gorham alpine ski team, along with Berlin s lone skier, kicked off the final week of the regular season with a giant slalom meet at Loon Mountain Resort in Lincoln. The meet consisted of two runs of giant slalom in the morning and one in the afternoon and also featured Lin-Wood, Profile, Littleton, Woodsville, White Mountains and Moultonborough.
In the morning race, the Gorham boys finished in third place behind Lin-Wood and Profile. Nolan York led the way with an eighth place finish in a time of 1:09.23.
