Portugal being moved to  amber status on Thursday.
So, while it is legal for Britons to travel abroad, many restrictions stand in their way under England s traffic light system; and only those returning from the 11 green-listed destinations can avoid quarantine, of which only
Iceland and
Gibraltar are now viable holiday destinations.
At the latest review on June 3, seven amber-listed countries were moved to the red list: 
Egypt, Sri Lanka, Costa Rica, Bahrain, Sudan, Trinidad and Tobago and Afghanistan.
The rating of each country is decided based on the proportion of its population that has been vaccinated, its infection rates, the prevalence of variants of concern and its capacity to sequence their genomes.  ....

Gibraltar has the most comprehensive vaccination campaign of anywhere in the world – 100 per cent of the population has received a first dose. UK tourists can visit Gibraltar without taking a Covid-19 test.
Health Secretary Matt Hancock praised Gibraltar’s rollout in the Commons after the Rock’s Chief Minister, Fabian Picardo, said the UK had “played a blinder” with its vaccination drive.
Bars and restaurants are open again in Gibraltar and face masks are only required on public transport. Foreign holidays will resume on May 17 for people in England, with a traffic light system replacing the current ban on international travel on that date. Hotels in England will also reopen as part of step three of the Government s roadmap to ease restrictions.
