He s been the owner and the hands on guy at Lime Rock Park for 37 years, now things are changing and being restructured as Skip Barber has sold the park to an investment group.

Now don t panic, the park is not closing or turning into a strip mall, the investment group who purchased the park are big fans of the track and seem to want to preserve what makes Lime Rock special, while also prepping the track to survive for years to come. Skip Barber, who s now 84 years old, will still be involved with the tracks day to day operations as part of the new Lime Rock Group, LLC. Longtime owner and racing school legend Skip Barber announced a new ownership structure for Lime Rock Park racetrack in Lakeville, according to a press release.
Barber, 84, has owned Lime Rock Park for 37 years. He’ll remain a “significant owner” in Lime Rock Group, LLC and will continue to be a part of its management committee.
“The Group’s General Partners, Charles Mallory, Dicky Riegel and Bill Rueckert along with a group of private investors have assumed control of Lime Rock Park and are bringing outstanding new vision and vitality to Lime Rock’s operations and to our local and regional community,” Barber said. “They are the ideal stewards of the Park’s long and successful legacy.
