Fish and Wildlife installing life jacket borrowing stations across Kentucky

The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources is starting a program that will offer boaters free access to life jackets they can borrow.
The department is working with local groups and other public agencies to build stations for the life jackets, with the first five to be installed in Anderson, Madison, Monroe and Warren counties.Sign up for our Newsletters
Fish and Wildlife Commissioner Rich Storm said life jackets can save a life when something unexpected happens on the water. Prospective partners who want to help with the project can contact the department to offer the stations in additional counties, he said. ....

Montgomery: Summer school teachers in Montgomery Public Schools are getting a bump in pay. The district has increased teacher wages from $25 to $50 an hour to get more teachers in the classrooms to handle an increase of students this summer, WSFA-TV reported. Superintendent Ann Roy Moore and the school board also are looking ahead to the upcoming school year. They’re planning to go back to face-to-face learning full-time. “We found that children don’t do as well virtually in most cases as they do face-to-face with a nurturing teacher in that environment,” Moore said. She said that virtual learning will be used on an as-needed basis. ....

Lebanon rallies past GHS 10-9
HENDERSONVILLE – Aly Dickerson s two-out, bases loaded walk brought home Jordan Bush from third in the bottom of the seventh to hand Lebanon a dramatic 10-9 win over Gallatin in Saturday s opening round of the District 9-AAA softball tournament at Drakes Creek Park.
The victory was the seventh in a row for Coach Jody Atwood s squad and sends the Lady Devils into a winner s bracket contest Monday at 5 p.m. against Beech, a 7-6 victor over Mt. Juliet in Saturday s other opener.
Trailing 9-4 in the bottom of the sixth, Lebanon scored three runs in each of the sixth and seventh innings. ....
