During his monthly radio address ‘Mann Ki Baat’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday spoke about the violence in Delhi on Republic Day. Amidst all this, the country was saddened by the insult to the Tricolour on the 26th January in Delhi. We have to infuse times to come with new hope. Last year, we displayed exemplary patience & courage. This year too, we have to work hard to attain our resolves, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Tractor rally on Republic Day turns violent
Following the violent clashes between the police and the farmers in Delhi on Republic Day, the Delhi Police have filed 22 cases. The police also said that over 300 policemen were injured during the clashes that were the culmination of two months of protests against the newly introduced farm laws. The Delhi Police also said that eight buses and 17 private vehicles were vandalised during the violence.

After violence shook the national capital on Republic Day, the US Embassy in Delhi advised American government personnel to avoid areas where clashes have been reported between farmers and police, and exercise caution if in the vicinity of any large groups, protests or demonstrations, reported news agency PTI.
