Now in its 22nd year, the lively annual event sees hundreds of participants take to the water as teams paddle their way to the finish line and is a popular social event that has helped raise thousands for local good causes over the years. Children’s Protection Center (CPC), an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to the prevention of child abuse in all its forms and holding offenders accountable, announced a call for teams ahead of the 2021 River Cities Dragon Boat Festival. Local businesses, organizations and other groups are encouraged to team up for a day of fun and one of the most unique events in Arkansas, all in the name of preventing child abuse in our community. The 2021 festival is scheduled for June 11–12 and will take place at Lake Willastein Park in Maumelle, Arkansas. “It takes a team to paddle one of these amazing Dragon Boats, just like it takes a team of people to prevent child abuse in our community,” said CPC Executive Director Jennifer Long. “Just like we do every day at CPC to support children, this is a great opportunity for people to come out and work together to support an important mission in our community.” ....
