A fire spread from a garage to a home in San Carlos on Monday afternoon, displacing two residents, San Diego fire officials said.
The fire started about 2:20 p.m. and quickly engulfed the garage of the home on Lake Artemus, just west of Lake Murray Boulevard. The fire then spread to the attic of the home, San Diego Fire-Rescue Battalion Chief David Picone told OnScene TV.
A neighbor told OnScene TV he and his wife were sitting in their living room when they smelled “a little smoke.” He said he thought someone was barbecuing, but then heard someone screaming, “Fire, fire, fire!” He said he walked out and saw the garage engulfed in flames.

San Diego Fire-Rescue Department s lifeguards and the San Diego Police Department impounded more than 30 water vessels at Mission Bay on July 4, most of which were personal watercraft. So my office is by there, and I saw them getting towed into the lifeguard headquarters, Andy K. said to me on July 13. I got a notice of an impounded jet-ski, and I said, Nah, not mine anymore. I sold it in used condition to a guy a while ago, and the guy never changed the registration.
