BELLOWS FALLS â By a close 3-2 vote, the Rockingham Select Board Wednesday night finally made a decision on replacing the decrepit Depot Street Bridge. The majority of the board chose a $7.2 million plan, which will move the canal crossing from its current location, and place it further north. A pedestrian bridge will be built in the location of the current Depot Street Bridge, which will be removed. Voting for the more expensive solution were Select Board members Richard Cowan, Bonnie North and Elijah Zimmer. Voting against it because of the cost were Chairman Peter Golec and Board member Susan Hammond. ....

Costs for the various options range from a high of $9.2 million to $5.2 million, with the local share ranging from $474,000 to $1.5 million.
