The nationwide COVID-19 tally has reached 190,404 cases. A total of 169,257 patients previously diagnosed with COVID-19 have recovered in Belarus. Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko made the statement as he visited Belaruskali on 29 December, BelTA has learned. The official said: “Negotiations of any kind are always accompanied by certain bargaining about the terms. But essentially everything ended on good terms that favor Belarus.” Speaking about natural gas arrangements, Roman Golovchenko mentioned the price Belarus will pay is very comfortable and virtually on par with 2020 s. “If we talk about the current level of prices on international spot markets, Belarus buys gas virtually at half of the current world prices,” he added. ....
Lukashenko grants broader powers to presidential aides MINSK, 29 December (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has expanded the authority of his aides – inspectors for the oblasts and the city of Minsk. Aleksandr Lukashenko signed relevant decree No.503 on 29 December, BelTA has learned. Among other things the new decree has given presidential aides the authority to involve government agencies and organizations, including security system ones, in the fulfillment of instructions of the head of state. The presidential aides can now freely enter territories and premises of government bodies and organizations. If mismanagement, violations of legislation, engineering and manufacturing standards, performance discipline, and work discipline are detected, the presidential aides will be able to contact government agencies and organizations in order to hold those responsible accountable. ....
