Two new luxury cinemas made progress this year, with one recently opening. Golden Ticket Cinemas, located in Uptown Aberdeen, formerly known as the Aberdeen Mall, opened Dec. 18, and showed Christmas classics and with newer films for $5 a ticket. The response was excellent, according to a mall official. Golden Ticket boasts nine auditoriums, though currently only five of them are open due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Golden Ticket Cinemas has upgraded sound systems, menus and luxury recliners. â(Recliners) are the biggest difference. Aberdeen residents who are looking for a luxury theater will not have to wait any longer. Golden Ticket Cinemas, which is located in Uptown Aberdeen (formerly known as Aberdeen Mall), announced in a Facebook post that the theater will be opening Friday. When it opens, Golden Ticket Cinema will be airing Christmas movie classics, as well as Croods 2, according to Golden Ticket Cinema President John Bloemeke. The theater has nine auditoriums, but during opening weekend five will be airing movies. âHonestly, thereâs no need to open nine auditoriums right now because thereâs not a lot of product in the marketplace. Studios are holding back a lot of film product right now, understandably,â Bloemeke said. ....
