Subscriber only A Slade Point man has pleaded guilty for his role in an attempt to steal a buggy vehicle from a security guard at a Mackay shopping centre. Mackay District Court heard Darren Michael Robert Fewquandie and a group of others were cleaning out an esky with a fire hose at a Caneland shopping centre car park in the early hours of April 4, 2020. Two shopping centre staff, including a security guard in a buggy, approached the group and told them the hose was for emergencies only. The court heard while most of the group walked away when the guard approached, Fewquandie s co-offender allegedly got into the buggy.

Subscriber only Rape allegations have been dropped against a Mackay mother, who pleaded guilty to unlawfully having sex with a mentally impaired teen. The incident occurred on August 9, 2019 in Mackay when the woman and 17-year-old boy, who had the intellectual age of a seven-year-old, were living under the same roof. Mackay District Court heard the pair had been drinking when the woman retired to her room to carry on drinking. Barrister Scott McLennan, acting for the 42 year old, said the victim had entered her room and made comments that the woman s partner did not treat her well and she deserved a man .

Graeme Wayne Webb had been well aware of his younger victim s intoxication when he took advantage of her vulnerable state, Mackay District Court heard. Now he ll spend nine months behind bars. The incident occurred in 2019 in a Central Queensland town, west of Mackay. Crown prosecutor Tiffany Lawrence said the woman had been helped to her room where she had woken up a few times, vomited and gone back to sleep. Webb had entered her room and started to clean up her vomit, including wiping between her legs and near her genital region.
