Poole Bus Station alleyways could be closed off permanently


The online consultation on introducing a permanent alleyway shut off says the local authority considered that the closures could reduce anti-social behaviour but might also lead to accessibility problems.
BCP Council wants residents, businesses, organisations and other affected individuals to have their say on whether the gating of the alleys would, on balance, be beneficial for the users of the bus station if anti-social behaviour were reduced without unfairly affecting access needs.
Cllr Haines added: “It is important we understand any impact of the proposal on those who use the bus station as well as local businesses and I would urge people to give their feedback through the public consultation.” ....

'Rapid access' pop-up clinics may open in BCP shopping centres


RAPID access pop up hospital clinics treating hundreds of patients each day could be established in shopping centres and possibly other venues.
The seven-days-a-week scheme is being worked up by University Hospitals Dorset, the trust which runs Bournemouth and Poole hospitals.
Extensive space is being considered for use at the Dolphin Centre in Poole and the Sovereign Centre by NHS bosses as part of a thinking differently programme as the service gets to grips with huge backlog of patients on waiting lists, post-Covid.
Around 45,000 people are waiting for treatment, with 5,500 having been on a list for more than a year. ....

Shops reopen across BCP on April 12 as restrictions ease


Monday, April 12 saw shoppers rejoice and return to their favourite shops and businesses across the conurbation.
In Christchurch, stall holders and customers alike were pleased that the market was back up and running.
Forever Fudge owners Tracy Cox and Duncan Brown, who had a stall at the market, said: We feel brilliant - this is our first day here and we ve already done our first sale at 9.05am.

We re very excited as the shops are opening and it s some form of normality because everything last year was closed and cancelled.
We re going to stick with staying local rather than setting up at big events this year to support local communities. We will be in Christchurch every Monday. ....
