Dec 21, 2020 Darwin Chavarria Cattle Landing resident Darwin Chavarria was brutally murdered last week. The body of the thirty-seven-year-old was found on Thursday on the Waterhole Road near the outskirts of Punta Gorda Town after he went missing the day before. Chavarria had left home in a black Ford Mariner which was found burnt along Waterhole Road on Wednesday. Police say that Chavarria had been shot to death. His hands were bound and his body riddled with bullets. Head of the National Crimes Investigation Branch Assistant Commissioner of Police Joseph Myvett says that several leads are being followed with two possible motives being considered, including a drug-related angle. ....

Dec 18, 2020 Darwin Chavarria There’s another murder to report, this time it happened in southern Belize where thirty-seven-year-old Darwin Chavarria met a gruesome end in Punta Gorda. The Cattle Landing resident was last seen alive around ten on Wednesday morning and when he didn’t return home, his family filed a missing person’s report on Thursday. We are told that also on Thursday, police discovered an SUV that Chavarria was driving; it was completely burnt and discarded on Waterhole Road on the outskirts of P.G. Relatives also shared that Chavarria’s slippers and other personal belongings were found in the vicinity. But it wasn’t until today, sometime around eight-thirty this morning, that the search efforts led to Chavarria’s bullet riddled body. Information to News Five is that his hands were also bound.
