Nova Scotians aged 50 to 54 may now book an appointment for Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines.

Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines will be available to the new age group at all community clinics and designated pharmacies, and more appointments will be released as vaccine supply is confirmed.(CBC)
Nova Scotians aged 50 to 54 may now book an appointment for Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines.
There are about 67,625 eligible Nova Scotians in the 50 to 54 age group.
Up until Monday, the two vaccines had been available to Nova Scotians 55 and up. The province has been gradually lowering the age cohort eligible for the shots as part of its vaccine rollout strategy. ....

Nova Scotia s premier blasted what he called the selfish few who aren t following COVID-19 restrictions, saying they are putting themselves and others at risk during the province s current outbreak.
Iain Rankin expressed his frustration during a media briefing Monday, noting that police in the Halifax area had issued 37 fines over the weekend for those who exceeded gathering limits, despite a provincewide lockdown.

As Nova Scotia reported 146 new cases of COVID-19 Monday, including 130 in the Halifax area, Rankin warned about the seriousness of the situation, saying that most cases identified in Nova Scotia recently are the B.1.1.7 variant first identified in the United Kingdom. ....

Darren Godbout is in the business of finding new uses for things other people no longer want. But since last spring, his work running his auction house has taken a back seat to another, more pressing project: helping in the fight against COVID-19.
The Dartmouth, N.S., business owner turned over most of the parking lot he owns as part of Auction Advantage to the Dartmouth General Hospital, his next-door neighbour, which used the space to run a drive-thru COVID testing unit. ....
