One Arrested in Suspected Arson Fire at Redondo Beach Residence

By City News Service Photo: Getty Images One person was arrested in connection with a suspected arson fire today at a residence in Redondo Beach, where authorities called in a sheriff s Bomb Squad Unit. Officers were dispatched at about 12:35 a.m. to a home in the 200 block of Torrance Boulevard regarding an arson investigation, and safely evacuated the occupants from inside the location, said Sgt. Mark Valdivia of the Redondo Beach Police Department. The Redondo Beach Fire Department was dispatched to the scene and knocked down a fire there, Valdivia said.  ``Due to the circumstances surrounding the ignition source, the Redondo Beach Police Department requested the assistance of the Los Angeles County Sheriff s Department Bomb Squad Unit, he said.

Police containment captures four suspects in Redondo Beach shooting death SHARE by Rachel Reeves An all-night search involving 12 police departments, helicopters, and drones ended Sunday morning with four suspects being apprehended for their possible connection to a fatal shooting that occurred around 8 p.m. Saturday in South Redondo Beach. The victim, whose identity has yet to be confirmed, died of multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso. Officers arrived at the scene after receiving calls about gunshots on the 600 block of North Juanita. The suspects had fled in a vehicle, heading south on Prospect Avenue, then east into the neighborhood between Faye Lane and Susanna Avenue. They then abandoned the vehicle and continued to flee on foot.
