DANVILLE, Va. â River District Association (RDA) today announced the addition of a Downtown Danville Arts and Sculpture Tour in the River District App: Distrx. This tour, through walking, photos and recorded audio, leads participants through the River District to view and learn about sculptures, murals and other art projects in Downtown Danville. âWe are so excited to offer this tour,â said Communications and Events Manager Kirsten Aherron. âIt a great way to enjoy the River District. The tour is self-guided, so participants can go at their own pace and stop part way through for lunch, coffee, or shopping, before resuming again.â ....
DANVILLE, Va. â The Riverwalk Trail is bursting with color, thanks to the Danville Museum of Fine Arts and History, along with dozens of production or installation community partners. The Wanderlove exhibit took approximately six months to complete, culminating in an install which took place in June. According to DMFAH Director Elsabe Dixon, the project is the outcome of a wide variety of groups coming together to create a masterpiece comprised of many unique individual parts. âThere are 25 community groups involved,â Dixon said. âWe reached out to these groups, and they reached out to their people, and thatâs how we put it together. So, knitting while apart on something that comes together.â ....
