Eddy County remains in the least restrictive COVID-19 category


Eddy County continued to meet criteria to remain in the turquoise category with the least restrictive COVID-19 regulations set by the State of New Mexico, according to the New Mexico Department of Health (DOH).
On Wednesday, DOH said in a news release 30 New Mexico counties were at the Turquoise Level, at which there are the fewest restrictions on commercial and day-to-day activities amid decreased virus risk.
A new per-capita rate of new COVID-19 cases of no greater 10 per 100,000 inhabitants over a 14-day reporting period, and an average positivity rate less than or equal to 7.5 percent during the most recent 14-day reporting period and a county with a fully vaccinated rate or a target of 40 percent that increases five percent every other as more vaccinations are completed, were key health metrics to determine a county’s risk level, according to DOH. ....

Reopening map shows almost every New Mexico county, including Dona Ana, is now low risk
SANTE FE, New Mexico All but three counties in New Mexico are now in the least restrictive Turquoise level according to the latest map released from the state Department of Health on Wednesday.

This comes a week after the state announced updates to the color-coded framework that would require counties to meet just two of the three requirements to move into the less restrictive Covid-19 conditions. ....

With COVID-19 restrictions relaxed, Eddy County resumes local events


Loosening COVID-19 restrictions in Eddy County meant numerous local events were allowed to resume after a year of virtual gatherings or outright cancellations. 
Eddy County was one of 24 counties across New Mexico to move to the Turquoise category on Friday after the State of New Mexico updated key health metrics used to assign risk levels to counties under the Red-Yellow-Green COVID-19 framework now in effect, read a news release from the Office of Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham. 
Turquoise is assigned to counties with the lowest risk of infections, and brings with it the least restrictive policies. 
As of Friday, six counties were at the Green Level, and three were at yellow, meaning 24 of New Mexico s 33 counties were at the least restrictive levels.   ....

SANTA FE, New Mexico Friday marked the start of New Mexico’s updated color-coded framework for determining Covid-19 risks in each of the state’s 33 counties, with state officials saying the changes were aimed at providing a more accurate picture of risk given increasing vaccination rates.
By shifting the metrics, more counties were now at a level at which there are fewer restrictions on commercial and day-to-day activities. In all, 24 counties are at the least-restrictive turquoise level, followed by six at green and three at yellow. There were none are in the red. ....
