Volvo Dun Laoghaire Regatta has received 94 entries so far for the Open Cruiser Championship (8th – 11th July 2021) on Dublin Bay and will pasue entries on April 30th to take stock of overall numbers

Entries for Volvo Dun Laoghaire Regatta (VDLR) are beyond expectations for July s event giving organisers the opportunity to close the entry system at the end of April to review the 320 boats received so far.

A new hull builder gives Flying Fifteen sailors an option to the Ovington hull that has been so dominant in the class in recent years has been announced for the 20-foot keelboat class.
The class, one of the largest one-design keelboat classes in Ireland, raced for World Championship Honours on Dublin Bay in 2018.

It s March 1st and depending on who you talk to there is either tremendous optimism that the 2021 Irish summer sailing season can get underway as scheduled or alternatively, the ongoing pandemic will force us to navigate a stop-start season like we did last year.
Certainly, with an estimated 82% of the population vaccinated by the sixth month of 2021, the hope is it could be full steam ahead. Some pundits say such a timeframe will, unfortunately, be just too late for some early fixtures that are now fifty-fifty . Others predict the season will get away alright but not until June. ....

Dublin Port Company has issued its 2021 Notices to Mariners.
The well-presented page on the Dublin Port website here provides links to over 40 different notices covering all aspects of Dublin Port activity in 2021 at Ireland s busiest port in a bay that contains Ireland s biggest boating population of approximately 1,000 boats at nearby Dun Laoghaire Harbour.
All 2020 Notices to Mariners not previously cancelled were automatically cancelled at 23:59 hours on the 31 December 2020.
