Catchplay+ Unveils Seobok Exclusively for Indonesia APRIL 22, 2021 Jakarta. Streaming service Catchplay+ has announced the long-awaited mega Korean movie Seobok will be available on the platform exclusively for Indonesia just one week after the film’s cinematic premiere. Movie lovers and fans of leading Korean stars Gong Yoo and Park Bo Gum can now watch this most anticipated high concept action from home, as an additional option to the limited cinema screening in Indonesia. Seobok is now available as a Premium Single Rental on Catchplay+ at Rp 49,500 (after tax) which is set to benchmark the price of a cinema ticket. However, once paid, users will have a 30-day period to redeem the movie and once watched, 48 hours of unlimited viewing. ....
Catchplay Snares Former HBO Asia Chief Jonathan Spink as Principal Advisor Variety 2 hrs ago Jonathan Spink, former CEO of HBO Asia, has joined Asian regional streaming operation Catchplay as its principal advisor. The Taiwan-based company was founded in 2007 as a local distributor. In the last five years it moved into streaming and now operates Catchplay Plus in Taiwan, Singapore and Indonesia. It claims a “membership base” of over 7 million. Paying subscription data is not disclosed. Recent moves to provide early access to movies have included WarnerMedia’s “Wonder Woman 1984” and Korean action movie, “Seobok” which will be exclusively available on Catchplay Plus in Indonesia just one week after its theatrical premiere. ....

Jonathan Spink, former chief executive of HBO Asia, has landed at Taiwan s Catchplay. The veteran executive is joining the regional streaming service as a principle advisor. A spokesperson for Catchplay said Spink will help the company in strategic partnership discussions in content and OTT fields, from Korea to China and Southeast Asia. Catchplay began business in 2007 as a theatrical distributor, later moving into film investment and production, before pivoting into streaming video in 2016.
