Ages 12-15 are now eligible to receive COVID-19 vaccinations in Hays County. Children can only be administered the vaccination when accompanied by a parent or guardian.Â
A walk-in clinic at the Dunbar Recreation Center, 801 Martin Luther King Blvd. will be provided tonight in San Marcos between 5pm and 10pm. Parents or guardians are encouraged to bring their children to the clinic, the Pfizer vaccine will be available to adult residents as well.
Hays County Judge Ruben Becerra got approval to distribute vaccinations to children in the 12-15 age group late night May 12 and says he will continue to help vaccinate all citizens.

The Texas Department of State Health Services announced that adolescent Texans between the ages of 12-15 are now eligible to receive a Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.
Texas’ move follows federal guidance, allowing the newest age group to receive a vaccine. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration authorized the vaccine for adolescents on Monday and the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices recommended it for 12-15 year olds on Tuesday.

Over 100,000 Hays County residents have now received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services.
Hays County reached the milestone Wednesday with 100,329 residents receiving at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose approximately 54% of 183,380 eligible residents who are 16 years or older. The DSHS also stated that 75,703 residents are fully vaccinated, 41.28%.
Additionally, 88.6% of residents who are 65 years or older have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine, while 75.51% in the same age group are fully vaccinated, according to the DSHS.
In San Marcos, 30,857 residents in the 78666 and 78667 zip codes have received one vaccine dose as of May 11, while 21,579 have been fully vaccinated.

Hays County continues to inch closer to 100,000 residents who’ve received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
According to the Texas Department of State Health Services, 99,039 Hays County citizens approximately 54% of 183,380 eligible residents who are 16 years or older have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose, while 73,659 residents are fully vaccinated, 40.17%.
Additionally, 87.76% of residents who are 65 years or older have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine, while 74.13% in the same age group are fully vaccinated, according to the DSHS.
In San Marcos, 30,857 residents in the 78666 and 78667 zip codes have received one vaccine dose as of Monday, while 21,579 have been fully vaccinated.
