The start of warmer weather means amusement parks are planning to open once again, and Knoebels Amusement Resort is one of several that will resume business in the coming weeks.
The Elysburg park was among the many that were forced to delay their planned opening in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. And even after reopening, the pandemic continued to effect the park’s ability to finish construction and maintenance on some rides, including a brand-new ride planned to debut that year. ....

LAMPETER, Pa. East Lampeter Township officials want the public s help with coming up with a unique name for the Lincoln Highway East tourist corridor.
The stretch of road between Route 896 and Strasburg Pike is home to many of Pennsylvania s tourist attractions such as Dutch Wonderland, the American Music Theater, and many hotels and restaurants.
The area is unique, Ralph Hutchison, East Lampeter Township Manager, said. It is a hub for the tourism industry of Lancaster County. There s a number of attractions for people to come to. That whole mix of opportunity is there. ....

If you’ve been outlet shopping in the Lancaster area, you’ve been on it – the tourism corridor of Route 30, the 2.5 mile part that runs from Route 896 to the Strasburg Pike. In addition to the Tanger Outlets Lancaster and the Shops @ Rockvale, the busy street includes the American Music Theatre and Dutch Wonderland along with countless restaurants and shops, and numerous hotels including the Cartoon Network Hotel. ....

But sometimes it seems like no two residents call that place by the same name.
Is it Lincoln Highway East? Or just Lincoln Highway? How about Route 30 East? Or just Route 30? Or the corridor? Or the strip?
By any name, the stretch of road and businesses between Route 896 and Strasburg Pike â home to Dutch Wonderland, American Music Theatre, Tanger and Rockvale outlets, hotels and restaurants â is the core of the countyâs tourist industry plus a commercial hub for local residents too.
The 2.5-mile corridor is so important that township officials are leading a multi-year, multi-million-dollar project to make it safer, calmer and more inviting to travel by adding walking trails and bicycle paths, narrowing vehicle-travel lanes, coordinating traffic signals based on traffic and taking other steps. ....
