Since then, we have tracked down victims, and the man accused of committing these crimes. Shari Manning hired Karl Phillips to repair some water damage. Now, five months later, she says she has an even bigger mess on her hands. He came in, assessed the situation, said it s going to be this amount of money, wrote up the contract and we gave him a check, said Manning. Now, she can t even get Phillips to return to the house. Phillips had a court date Thursday regarding two separate cases of home improvement fraud. News 10 s Tucker White showed up to the court to try and get answers from Phillips. How did it start? It started earlier Tuesday afternoon at a home located at 1038 Fruitridge Avenue. This is near Maple Avenue. Terre Haute Police Chief Shawn Keen said police responded to the house based on information from a family member. They had reason to believe the man is suicidal. ....
CAPE NEDDICK, Maine –– A group of about 15 to 20 people gathered underneath the moonlight in the woods behind the Center for Wildlife to explore an ephemeral stream. Flashlights guided the group down an icy path behind the center. After walking for about five minutes, on Thursday, the stream partially frozen glimmered when hit with light beams from a few cellphones. Ephemeral streams, or rain-dependent streams, are those that flow only after precipitation. Runoff from rainfall is the primary source of water for these streams, according to the Environmental Protection Agency. The topic of Thursday s educational session was Life Aquatic, which explored the different bodies of water in the area and how they re formed. Beavers, river otters and muskrats were a few aquatic mammals named during the presentation, which explained the impact these animals have had on the land and how they ve shaped our streams, rivers, wetlands and overall ecosystem. ....

In the early hours of Wednesday – December 16, 2020; Mrs. Lilah Parish White gained her angel wings and entered the gates of heaven at the age of 75 years. Mrs. White was earthly sent on July 2, 1945 in Geneva, Alabama to Joseph Lafayette Parish and Elizabeth Dees Parish. Mrs. White had lived in the Ruth Community since 2012 and is formerly of Talladega, Alabama. Mrs. White spent the majority of her life caring for others as she was a school teacher with the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind. Later on in her life she retired her position and spent time traveling, reading, sewing, admiring ceramics and cross stitching, but she enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a beloved and dedicated member of the Talladega Creek Baptist Church. ....
