At their April 19 regular meeting, the Tama City Council voted 4-1 in favor of hosting a parade for the upcoming Lincoln Highway Bridge Festival on May 22. Council member Emily Babinat was lone no vote, citing safety concerns with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the likelihood of a large gathering occurring in the downtown area. The Tama Fire Department earlier announced their plans to host the carnival portion of the festival but the decision to host the parade fell to the city after the Tama-Toledo Chamber of Commerce said in March they were not planning to host the parade as had been done in recent years. ....
Ten Central High School seniors will be honored April 15 during the Springfield district s Recognition of Scholastic Excellence, or ROSE, banquet. Each year, the 10 graduating students with the highest GPA from each high school are honored. This year, due to ties in GPA, Kickapoo and Parkview high schools each have 11 honorees. The News-Leader will showcase students from each high school this week. The ROSE banquet will be hosted by Missouri State University this year. Rohan Bansal The child of Sharad Bansal and Nitika Bansal, Rohan plans to seek a degree in computer science and pursue a career in engineering. His high school activities include student body president, basketball, National Honor Society, International Baccalaureate Diploma Program and Future Business Leaders of America. ....

Elliott Management remained profitable throughout the pandemic year and it has generated positive returns every month even in March when stocks markets collapsed at a historic pace. Founded in 1977 by Paul Singer, The New York-based hedge fund, also generated low double-digit returns from its international and onshore funds. Paul Singer has early predicted quarantine and coronavirus related disruptions.
