The Martha s Vineyard Times To the Editor: In the current environment of misinformation, the Island Housing Trust understands that there are a number of inaccuracies in Mr Sepanara’s letter to the editor. While we completely respect his right to his opinions, we would like to have an opportunity to share the facts because they matter. To that end we invite Mr. Sepanara to meet with us to discuss our work, our fundraising methods, and our mission in an effort to have an informative and productive dialogue with him. We would also like to take him on a tour of our neighborhoods so that he can see for himself the care and thoughtfulness that goes into everything we do. The positive impacts our nonprofit work has on the community as a whole and our hard working year-round residents are tangible and can be very inspiring. We’ll be happy to make ourselves available to schedule a meeting and a tour at a day and time that works for everyone. ....

Each year the discussions have become more complex as our town grows, and with that growth comes the need and desire for more services. In 2004, our annual town budget was approximately $10,000,000. As of late February 2021, the budget for West Tisbury stands at well over $20,000,000. Our town budget is growing far faster than inflation, and at a faster rate than the town’s population. The FY2022 proposed budget will increase further, dependent on the number ....
The Martha s Vineyard Times Donât take a chance on synthetic turf The following letter was submitted to the Marthaâs Vineyard Commission. I am writing to urge you to not permit the use of an artificial turf field in the new proposed high school athletic project. I ask you to review, and if necessary, further validate the testimony of Jerad Minnick that natural grass fields can be installed and maintained to a level satisfactory to the high schoolâs proposed use. Should you decide to approve the project, and that testimony proves valid, I ask that you condition the project to require 100 percent natural grass fields be incorporated. ....
