Amid an extended legal department hiring spree for newly-public Coinbase Global Inc., the fintech company has swiped a top in-house lawyer from Capital One who helped spearhead the bankâs recent investments in intellectual property.
Ariana Woods spent four years at Capital One, most recently as associate general counsel and head of intellectual property. On Thursday, she announced on LinkedIn that she s joined Coinbase as head of IP at the cryptocurrency exchange.

Some of Cleveland County s hungriest residents will benefit from recent action by a local church.
Membership at Lily Memorial Baptist Church has voted to utilize some of its recreational space, to the Cleveland County Potato Project.
Located at 406 Witener Road in Shelby, potatoes will grow where sluggers formerly hit balls into the nearby woods.
The grounds will receive a year of soil preparation before white or sweet potatoes will be planted next spring. There will be several harrowings and tillings with a cover crop coming later in the year.
Anyone who would like to renew their farming license by bringing their tractor and equipment and working on the soil should contact organizers. This land has been a sports field for many years. One member estimates that as much as $6 of lost coins may be plowed up.
