Greenberg admitted to making more than 150 transactions totaling more than $70,000 to arrange liaisons with young women he met through a sugar daddy website. Through that site, he met a 17-year-old girl with whom he met at hotels and engaged in criminal sex acts at least seven times in 2017. He and the girl often used the drug Ecstacy. Greenberg also introduced the minor to other adult men, who engaged in criminal sex acts with the minor, his plea agreement states. Investigators are attempting to determine whether Gaetz was one of those adult men. The Daily Beast has reported on a letter Greenberg had written to presidential adviser Roger Stone seeking help in getting a pardon from then-President Donald Trump. Hausu Mountain Sharkula x Mukqs = Best Available Technology + Lil B Take Caution on the Beach though no less loose or unhinged than its predecessor feels like a refinement of the style Chicago-based musicians Sharkula ( Brian Wharton) and Mukqs ( Max Allison) teased out on their first collaborative release, 2019’s Prune City. The MC (Sharkula) and the producer (Mukqs) both possess a style awash in eccentricity to the point of absurdity, and the combination of the two makes for outsider hip-hop unlike most. Mukqs’ production sputters and glitches through a web of lo-fidelity synthesizers and treats the rhythmic grid like a loose suggestion, his samples and loops warping and stretching between and beyond bar lines. ....
Hausu Mountain has released a staggering array of music in the nine years since the label was founded: longform drone and lysergic easy listening; slow-motion techno and blown-out breakcore; hymns to the Weather Channel and fingerpicked Americana; mutant gabber-screamo and whatever the hell you call the music of Ohio duo Moth Cock. For all its range, though, the label’s guiding aesthetic is easy to describe. “We like gaudy, trippy, rainbow stuff,” says label co-founder Maxwell Allison. His partner, Doug Kaplan, chimes in: “We like ignoring ideas about what’s cool or what’s cheesy collapsing high and low culture and seeing them all as one thing. There’s very little irony happening on the label. Everything is out of honesty and love.” ....
Daryl Worthington , January 19th, 2021 09:30 From a beautiful choral take on a Fluxus classic, to euphoric German anti-folk, Daryl Worthington finds there’s all kinds of escape through tape this January Macie Stewart & Lia Kohl by Maren Celest It might seem out of place to start the new year by looking back, but this is a tape column after all, so we’re hardly worshipping the idols of progress here. And the UK based Disciples label’s ongoing dive into the 1980’s home recordings of His Name Is Alive’s Warren Defever shows messing with the archive sometimes points the way ahead. ....
