Rehoboth Beach Delaware 19971United States Looking to continue to support local community groups, First State Skate Supply has started selling Autism Delaware-themed raffle tickets, T-shirt and stickers. Shop co-owner Joe Moore said the business helped a local branch Boys & Girls Club last year. This year, he continued, they decided to do something a little different, but still help a local organization. James West, First State Skate Supply co-owner, said he was inspired to help Autism Delaware because his aunt is a special education teacher in Maryland. Brett Gershman, employment support professional for Autism Delaware’s POW&R program, said he was happy the First State Skate team was lending a hand for an important cause. The hope is to be able to have a spin-off program, he said. ....
Abbott’s Mill will celebrate their 40th Anniversary on May 22 with music, food and drinks. On May 22, Abbottâs Mill Nature Center plans to thank the community for their support over the past 40 years with a celebration from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. The celebration will be held on the mill grounds, located at 15411 Abbottâs Pond Road. âThis was a way we could express our appreciation to the community,â Matt Babbitt, Site Director, said. âAlthough we will have program and history information available, this event is a concert and celebration, so we just want people to come and have some fun.â Music will be provided by Hoochie Coochie with food provided by Taco Reho and Buckyâs Barbecue. Babbitt stated that Buckyâs will be offering smoked mushrooms as a vegetarian alternative on their menu. Dogfish Head and Arenaâs are sponsors of the event as well. He even has ideas about getting the mile some signage, landscaping the median and even helping other businesses there. Before the Forgotten Mile Ale House, the building was home to the legendary Captain s Table for decades. In between, a few other short-lived restaurants occupied the space. Newman is confident he won t be one of them. People are always like, That location s tough, Newman said. If anyone can take a space and change it into something great, it s me. The 15 Wilmington Ave. restaurant is known for its 20-tap selection of craft beer and live music.
