The biggest name expected to make a play for Sunday Ticket? Apple, which is in early talks with the NFL on the games, tech news site The Information reported Friday citing persons familiar with the situation.
Live sports hasn t been an emphasis for Apple, which has its own Apple TV streaming devices, Apple TV app and platform, and Apple TV+ streaming service with original TV series including Ted Lasso. But the company last year hired Amazon Video s former head of sports James DeLorenzo to run its own sports division, The Information noted.
Apple did not respond to request for comment.

NFL fans could soon be watching Sunday Ticket games on Apple TV+ as the streaming giant is reportedly in talks with the league for its streaming rights.
According to sources, there are no ongoing negotiations as of writing but Apple “has expressed early interest” in acquiring the streaming rights.

Apple TV has been speculated to have been in talks and interested in streaming NFL Sunday Ticket after its stint on Live TV, and would soon be a part of the digital subscription media. There have been talks that Amazon and Disney s ESPN+ streaming services were also interested in making the deal, also gunning to get the rights to the sports game.

(Pocket-lint) - Apple is hoping to get NFL Sunday Ticket, a sports package that broadcasts NFL regular-season games unavailable on local affiliates as well as all regional Sunday afternoon games produced by Fox and CBS. DirecTV currently has the contract to offer Sunday Ticket, but that expires in 2022, at which point Apple could score the lucrative deal.
According to a new report from The Information, Apple has an early interest in securing the rights to NFL’s Sunday Ticket package for its Apple TV+ video streaming service, although Sports Business Journal s John Ourand claimed the NFL has not yet entered into official negotiations. Keep in mind Apple likely won’t be the only company trying to get Sunday Ticket.
