An effort to address a lack of diversity and address concerns over racist incidents led to the school board’s abrupt proposal this week to eliminate the selective admissions process in favor of a random lottery like the district’s other high schools.Marlena Sloss/Special to The Chronicle I want to thank the San Francisco school board for acknowledging its mistake in regards to renaming all schools within its system. I not only disagreed with the decision but also with the manner in which it was taken. It appears to have violated many regulations about notice and public meetings.
