th, 2021 Congressional hearing of the CLEAN Future Act: Driving Decarbonization of the Transportation Sector was a veritable marathon of legislative discourse just shy of four hours long as both parties debated what they deemed, in their own succinct if not melodramatic words, as the way to “winning the future”.  This particular test of deliberative endurance was certainly not the first nor the final hearing of the CLEAN Future Act, so the members of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce focused on reiterating their broader arguments regarding the bill’s overall goals and impacts rather than any nuanced specifics found within its 981 pages. ....

Queensland Reds star Jordan Petaia could be out of rugby for six weeks because of a thigh strain.
Queensland Reds and Wallabies back Jordan Petaia is battling a thigh injury that will likely keeping him out of Super Rugby Trans-Tasman and cruel his chances of facing the French in three Tests later this year.
Petaia left Saturday s final in the second half because of the injury as the Reds beat the Brumbies 19-16 thanks to a dramatic injury-time James O Connor try.

WASHINGTON
The U.S. Commerce Department is pressing Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co Ltd and other Taiwanese firms to prioritise the needs of U.S. automakers to ease chip shortages in the near term, Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo said.
Raimondo told a Council of the Americas event on Tuesday that longer term, increased investment was needed to produce more semiconductors in the United States and that other critical supply chains needed re-shoring, including to allied countries.
We re working hard to see if we can get the Taiwanese and TSMC, which is a big company there, to, you know, prioritize the needs of our auto companies since there s so many American jobs on the line, Raimondo said in response to a question from a General Motors Co executive. ....
