AMMAN Jordan’s inbound tourism will rise about 20 per cent in September, according to a stakeholder
“During the summer, most people who visit the Kingdom are either expatriates or tourists from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries,” head of the Jordan Inbound Tour Operators Association (JITOA) Awni Kawar told The Jordan Times on Tuesday.
He noted that summer is the least busy season because tourists, who mostly come from Europe, prefer to visit Jordan in spring and fall.
Mica Vucic, a Croatian tourist who visits her sister in Jordan every two years, told The Jordan Times over the phone that she prefers to visit the Kingdom in April. ....

AMMAN Tourism sector stakeholders are hoping for the recovery of the tourist travels in autumn as 2020 has been almost “a lost year”, a situation the government is trying to avoid in the future with the announced Tourist Resilience fund.
“Some people had some saving and they have spent it all, some people sold their car, their furniture, their houses, while others took loans from relatives or from the banks. So, the situation is very difficult,” said Raed Abdel Haq, president of the Jordan Tour Guides Association (JTGA). ....
