It s called the First Responders and Public Protection Bill (LB 111), proposed by Nebraska Senator Joni Albrecht.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – It’s called the ‘First Responders and Public Protection Bill’ (LB 111), proposed by Nebraska Senator Joni Albrecht.
Under this proposed bill, anyone who riots or assaults any first responder (Police, Fire, Emergency care provider, etc.) in Nebraska would face higher penalties.
Albrecht was disturbed by the riots and injuries sustained by our local law enforcement last summer, so she decided as a lawmaker it was her turn to step up. The bill would give more consequences to those who riot in Nebraska, while also giving our first responders the tools they need to protect our cities, property, and also themselves. If you instill harm to any public safety officer, Albrecht says you could face anything ....

Lawmakers will once again consider a proposal requiring Nebraskans to show photo identification before voting, as well as a bill that would do away with the state s unique method of awarding Electoral College votes.
In a news release Thursday, Sen. Julie Slama of Peru called both common-sense measures that would improve Nebraska s election laws and security.
Slama said her constitutional amendment (LR3CA) requiring voters to bring their photo to the polls — a proposal that has been introduced nine out of the past 10 years — would combat voter fraud and preserve public confidence in the legitimacy of the elected government. ....

After several state lawmakers expressed concern about Wednesday’s riot at the U.S. Capitol, Nebraska state senators got down to introducing proposals on everything from the Electoral College to marijuana and windshield wipers.
