By City News Service Jul 15, 2021 SANTA ANA (CNS) - One homeless man fatally stabbed another transient while his two friends beat the victim with pipes in Santa Ana because they erroneously thought he was a “rapist,” a prosecutor told jurors today while defense attorneys said the prosecution s star witness is unreliable and has ulterior motives. Daniel Rubin Gallegos, 48, is charged with murder with a sentencing enhancement for the personal use of a deadly weapon, and co-defendant Gustavo Nunez Jr., 33, is charged with assault with a deadly weapon. Co-defendant Lisa Marie Herrera, 42, is also charged with assault with a deadly weapon and will be tried at a later date due to recent medical issues, according to court records. ....

Joseph Cossolini at the union’s election – which occurs every three years – which was tallied on April 15th. With 459 ballots counted, Cossolini secured 351 to Disbrow’s 108, with the detective’s slate all securing at least 307 votes and pulling off a clean sweep, according to tally forwarded to HCV. ....
