A middle school gym teacher in Duxbury has been fired as he faces allegations of sexual assault from a former student s parents in civil court.Duxbury Public Schools Superintendent John Antonucci reported during Tuesday s school committee meeting that John Blake s employment with the district was terminated on April 1.In addition to being a gym teacher at Duxbury Middle School, Blake was the head coach of the Duxbury High School boys hockey team.Blake has not been criminally charged. Both Blake and the school district are facing a civil lawsuit from the parents of a man who died late last year of a drug overdose, as they claim the heinous acts of sexual abuse committed by Blake in school pushed their son to a life of drug abuse.Joseph and Melissa Foley say their son Joseph Parker Foley, who was known as Parker, was a Duxbury Middle School student in the mid-2000s and that he was sexually assaulted by Blake. A Massachusetts middle school gym teacher accused in a lawsuit of raping a student years ago has been fired, school district officials said.
Duxbury schools Superintendent John Antonucci said during a school committee meeting on Tuesday that Duxbury Middle School teacher John Blake was fired effective April 1 after an internal investigation.
Blake, who was also the varsity boys hockey coach at Duxbury High School for nearly two decades, was placed on administrative leave in November after a couple alleged that he sexually assaulted their son while he was in middle school in the mid-2000s. Joseph and Melissa Foley filed the $1 million lawsuit against Blake and the school district last week. ....
