Hertfordshire Police celebrated the work of its fantastic Police Support Volunteers (PSVs) during National Volunteers’ Week (June 1-7).
Volunteers’ Week is a time to say thanks for the contribution millions of people make across the UK through volunteering.
The force’s volunteers work across a variety of roles including:

- Assisting Safer Neighbourhood Teams with Neighbourhood Watch sign-ups
- Helping to review CCTV footage as part of investigations
- Acting as role play volunteers to help train new recruits
- Assisting various teams with admin tasks, to help free up officers’ time

St. Claire earned the Kentucky Hospital Association Presidentâs Service Award for dedication and perseverance throughout the pandemic, according to a news release.
âWhile hospitals routinely prepare for emergency events, no one could have anticipated the reality of the past year,â said Nancy C. Galvagni, KHA President. âThis special award of merit recognizes Kentucky hospitals who have been on the front lines leading the way in the fight against COVID-19 and the caregivers who have worked tirelessly to provide compassionate care and to ultimately save lives.â
St. Claire began serving as a regional COVID-19 testing site in April 2020. Itâs been administering vaccinations since January.
The Alzheimerâs Association will offer virtual and telephone sessions.
⢠Upcoming caregiver support groups by phone will be from 4 to 5 p.m. April 27; noon to 1 p.m. April 29; and 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. April 29.
⢠Upcoming support groups that can be accessed virtually and by phone will be 1 to 2 p.m. April 15; 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. April 19; 6 to 7 p.m. April 19; and 4 to 5 p.m. April 20.
⢠âLiving with Alzheimerâs and Dementia for Caregivers: Middle Stages Seriesâ will be offered via telephone as a series at 11 a.m. on Wednesdays, starting this week and continuing through April 28.
⢠Understanding Alzheimer s and Dementia will be online and on telephone at 2 p.m. and at 6 p.m. Thursday.
