Junior pitcher Danielle Watson (5-0) continued her strong showing by tossing seven scoreless innings and allowing just three hits and striking out two in 29 batters faced. She did not allow an extra base hit to the Blue Devils (27-7, 15-7) tonight. Duke pitcher Shelby Walters (11-3) took the loss after allowing three runs on six hits in six innings pitched. Walters entered the matchup with an impressive 0.94 ERA. The Seminoles (25-6, 13-2) opened the game up in the bottom of the second inning. Anna Shelnutt led off the frame with a walk, followed by a single up the middle from Cassidy Davis. Josie Muffley then singled to third base on a bunt to load the bases with no outs, and Kiersten Landers hit a soft groundout that was just enough to score Shelnutt from third base. ....

(Seminoles.com) – Redshirt Sophomore pitcher Kathryn Sandercock extended her scoreless innings pitched streak to 19 straight frames as she shut down No. 20 Duke and helped No. 9 Florida State Softball to a 5-0 win on Friday night at JoAnne Graf Field. Sandercock (13-1) pitched a complete-game shut-out, tossing 7.0 scoreless innings and allowing just one hit and three walks in 23 batters faced. Sandercock threw just 80 pitches and also struck out three Blue Devils (27-7) in the big conference win. The ninth-ranked Florida State softball team (24-6) hosts No. 20 Duke (27-6) for a four-game series this weekend at JoAnne Graf Field. FSU Softball is excited to celebrate its 2021 Faculty and Staff Appreciation Weekend this weekend and recognize the many amazing people who work behind the scenes in educating and supporting our student-athletes. TEAM 38 has personally selected a handful of their professors, administrators, and staff members to throw out ceremonial virtual first pitches for our series this weekend against Duke. TALLAHASSEE, Fla. The No. 16 Florida State softball team (11-4) host No. 2 Arizona for a three-game series this weekend (March 11-13) at JoAnne Graf Field. All three games are at 6:00 pm. The Seminoles enter the week after splitting two games with No. 5 Florida. FSU defeated the Gators at home on Saturday, 5-2. FLORIDA STATE VS. ARIZONA Florida State and Arizona have met 15 times. The Wildcats lead the all-time series 12-3. The two teams last met in 2019 in Arizona and Florida State took the series with two wins. The Seminole offense has scored 75 runs in the first 15 games of the season. This has come as the Seminoles have put together 29 total extra-base hits, including 11 home runs and 18 doubles.
