Tourism New Zealand in a report last month projected Australians would inject $1 billion plus into the country’s economy via the trans-Tasman travel bubble.
“Australians have always been a really, really important part for our sector, they made up 40 per cent of all travellers, inbound travellers pre-COVID and they contributed $2.7 billion to the economy,” Bachcare spokesperson Zaina Razzaq said.
