2023: A woman may succeed Buhari — Zainab Marwa


“As 2023 draws near, I believe that women are going to take their rightful place as leaders, policymakers and decision-makers in this power play.
“Right now, we have not come together quite yet to choose a woman that would succeed His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari. But why not? Anything can happen, anything is possible, but with time to come,” she said while responding to a question on the possibility of a woman emerging as president in the 2023 elections.
She added, “You (women) must educate yourselves, especially for the fact that all politics is local. So, you must go to your locality, and align yourselves with a political party.’ ....

Aisha Buhari tasks groups on women, girl-child emancipation

Nigeria’s First Lady, Mrs Aisha Buhari has charged women groups in the country to work hard towards the emancipation of the female folk, young and old, so that they can contribute their quota to nation building.
She stated this in Abuja over the weekend, at a well attended conference organized by Aspire Women Forum, a non-governmental organisation founded by a frontline female activist, Mrs Zainab Marwa-Abubakar. While urging Nigerian women not to be discouraged, the First Lady urged them to continue to pick up challenges which will build them as well as empower themselves to aspire to greater heights. ....
