Ever wonder what the “J” and “E” stand for in J&E Auto Repairs on 23rd Street in Richmond? It stands for a father and his two sons working together to continue a local legacy.
Javier Magallanes has provided auto repair services in different locations of Richmond for about 25 years. In 2015, he teamed with his sons, Enrique and Javier, Jr., to open J & E Auto Repairs. The family business was initially located at 23rd and Barrett, but in 2019 relocated to 23rd and Roosevelt.
“It was something I grew up doing with [my father]. I would tag along with him to his job, and he taught me everything he knew about working on cars, and working in the office,” said Enrique Magallanes, who has been in the profession for six years. Along with Javier Jr., the Magallenes team combines for ample years of experience working on both domestic and import vehicles of all makes and models. ....
