The Brick Police Street Crimes Unit continues to sweep up the streets in town of drugs, particularly heroin of late, from having any more reach. Chief James Riccio announced the results of recent sweeps, including one on Tuesday, all near the Wawa on Brick Boulevard. Detectives and the SCU conducted a motor vehicle stop earlier this month after witnessing a motor vehicle violation. Sgt. Paul Catalina and his K9 partner, Duke, backed up Detectives as well who, through combined efforts, found quantities of controlled dangerous substances and paraphernalia. All three people in the vehicle were arrested. The driver, Kyle Fisher, 30, Manchester, was charged with possession of heroin, hypodermic syringes and drug paraphernalia, in addition to several motor vehicle summonses. ....

(Karen Wall/Patch) BRICK, NJ A 14-year-old has been charged with murder in the stabbing death of a 38-year-old Brick Township man, authorities said Sunday. Mohammed Khater, 38, died Saturday at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, where he was taken following the incident, Ocean County County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer and Brick Township Police Chief James Riccio said. Brick Township police were called to a home about 2:45 p.m. on Saturday and found Khater with a stab wound to the right side of his abdomen, authorities said. The home was on Herbertsville Road, the Asbury Park Press reported. ....
Brick teen charged with murder in stabbing of 38-year old man A 14-year old Brick teenager is being charged with murder following his arrest for stabbing a 38-year old man and leaving him for dead. Ocean County County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer and Brick Police Chief James Riccio issued a joint statement Sunday morning announcing the arrest for the murder that occurred on Saturday afternoon. The juvenile is also being charged with Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and is currently being detained in the Ocean County Juvenile Detention Center. Brick Police responded to a residence around 2:45 pm Saturday in reference to a 911 call for an apparent stabbing. ....

THE family of murdered Somerset man Mikhail Hanid say they wish his killers no ill will . They were speaking after Curtis Ford was jailed for 26 years for Mr Hanid s murder and his cousin Samuel Ford received 12 years for manslaughter, which includes three years on licence. Curtis and Samuel Ford KILLERS: Curtis Ford and Samuel Ford Mr Hanid’s family: “Samuel and Curtis Ford have been convicted of killing Mikhail.
