Deputies seek help in search for motorcyclist missing in Borrego Springs

BORREGO SPRINGS
An off-road motorcyclist who went missing Sunday in Borrego Springs was found Tuesday morning in the neighboring community of Ocotillo Wells, a sheriff’s official said.
The 55-year-old man got separated from a group he was riding with around 9:50 a.m. Sunday in an area near state Route 78 and Yaqui Pass Road, according to sheriff’s Det. Bradley Farr.
The man had gone out to the desert in a friend’s vehicle and became separated as they were riding their motorcycles off road, Farr wrote in an email, adding that Rawlins had food and water with him.
The man was riding a red and white 2015 Beta 500 RS endurance-style motorcycle, Farr said. The motorcycle is street legal. ....

Deputies Find Man Who Disappeared While Riding Motorcycle With Group in Borrego Springs

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department has found a man who disappeared over the weekend when he was separated from his group while riding motorcycles in Borrego Springs.
The SDSO launched a search for James “Jimmy” Rawlins III, 55, who had been riding an “endure-style motorcycle” with a group Sunday morning, off-roading in the area of state Route 78 and Yaqui Pass. The rural area is south of Borrego Springs, west of Ocotillo Wells, and about 14 miles south of the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park Visitor Center.
At around 9:50 a.m. Sunday, Rawlins was separated from his group. ....
