May 20 2021 8:45 PM EDT Three teachers at a high school in Indiana have been ordered to remove Pride flags from their classrooms on the grounds that the flags make a political statement and some students and parents are incensed. Connie Rickert, principal of Pendleton Heights High School, located in the town of Pendleton, ordered the removal Tuesday, according to The Herald Bulletin, an area newspaper. The flags had been displayed by the school’s art, French, and Spanish teachers. ....
View Comments Students at Pendleton Heights High School are asking their district to reconsider its policies after several teachers were told to remove pride flags from their classrooms last month. Bryce Axel-Adams, a junior at Pendleton, started an online petition to allow the flags to be displayed again. He had hoped for several dozen supporters he’s received nearly 3,000 signatures as of Thursday morning. “As a freshman, I remember walking by (a teacher’s) classroom,” Bryce said. “She had it right on the wall so when you were passing by and looking into her room you could see it. “I remember walking by her classroom, glancing at it and just being happy. I knew we had an ally here at the school.” ....

May 19, 2021 11:01 The Australian Defence Force has launched a new recruitment campaign, in the first major work since returning to VMLY&R. The tagline “Your life, plus Army Reserve”, communicates that Australians don’t need to give up an established lifestyle, career, day job or studies to join the Army Reserve. The 60 second film displays a range of different professionals, from nurses and lifeguards to soccer players carrying out Defence Force duties. The Defence Force creative account moved to Havas in 2013, previously, then named George Patterson Y&R held the account for 13 years, winning a string of awards during that period. The agency won back the account in 2019, following a pitch process where the recently consolidated VMLY&R beat out Host/Havas in the final two. ....
