Santa Fe College partnered with the Florida Department of Health in Alachua County to host a COVID-19 vaccine event Thursday, providing 442 doses of the Moderna vaccine to students, faculty, staff and community members.
Vaccinations were administered at the Jackson N. Sasser Fine Arts Hall on the college’s northwest campus. A total of 424 people received their second dose of the vaccine, while 18 people got their first vaccine dose, said Alex Rohlwing, a government operations consultant in region three of ....

Ten FNM MPS awaiting nod as party ratifies eight more incumbents

NASSAU, BAHAMAS The Free National Movement (FNM) ratified eight more incumbent members of Parliament, the party announced last night.
According to a statement, FNM MPs Michael Pintard (Marco City), Frankie Campbell (Southern Shores), Iram Lewis (Central Grand Bahama), Pakesia Parker-Edgecombe (West Grand Bahama and Bimini), Reuben Rahming (Pinewood), Adrian Gibson (Long Island), Shanendon Cartwright (St Barnabas) and Ricky Mackey (North Eleuthera) have all secured a spot on the party’s ticket.
The latest ratifications bring the total up to 25.
“The Free National Movement has ratified eight incumbent candidates to help advance the party’s agenda, which at its core, will ensure the continued building of a better Bahamas,” read the statement. ....

ABACO, BAHAMAS The Central Abaco Community Centre/Hurricane Shelter is expected to be completed by May 2021, before the start of the next hurricane season, announced Prime Minister Dr Hubert Minnis today.
The prime minister and a delegation, including North Abaco MP Darren Henfield, South and Central Abaco MP James Albury, members of the Disaster Reconstruction Authority and donors for the project, were on the island for the official groundbreaking ceremony on Central Pines Drive, Abaco.
