Western Institute for Lifelong Learning plans two webinars in April Virtual meetings address public lands volunteers and millennial vocabularies Barry Heifner SILVER CITY, N.M. – The Western Institute for Lifelong Learning will present two Lunch and Learn webinars in April that are guaranteed to enlighten you. The webinars, held online from noon to 1 p.m. April 10 and April 17,  are free and open to the public. In the first webinar, Kathy Whiteman, Ph.D., of Western New Mexico University, will take participants on a virtual walk on the wild side April 10 during  “Opt Outdoors!  Public Lands Volunteering.”  Whiteman will discuss your renewed or new alliance with nature, teach you about the Leave No Trace philosophy, Wilderness First Aid training options and ways the Western New Mexico University Outdoor Program has continued to connect students with the outdoors and engage in public lands volunteering.

Western Institute plans Lunch and Learn webinars at Silver City Museum Hosted by Western Institute for Lifelong Learning Barry Heifner SILVER CITY – A full slate of Lunch and Learn webinars is set for this spring by the Western Institute for Lifelong Learning in partnership with the Silver City Museum. “Long in the works, the agreement just signed between the Silver City Museum and the Western Institute for Lifelong Learning commences a historic partnership. This natural pairing represents an exciting new chapter in local cultural programming,” according to a museum news release. “The agreement was signed enthusiastically by Museum Director Bart Roselli, WILL President Susan Beck and Silver City Town Manager Alex Brown. This partnership agreement was originally spearheaded by Roselli and Shelby Hallmark, past WILL president.”
