More municipal court sentences handed down

Municipal Judge Mike Daugherty oversees the court, which administers the law in criminal misdemeanor cases.
The following continues the list of those who pled guilty or were found guilty between April 19, 2021 and April 23, 2021:
• Jamie Payton, 27, of Jeffersonville, O.V.I., sentenced to 60 days in jail (suspended), fined $500, assessed $135 court costs. Payton must complete a three-day non-residential driver intervention program and two years of non-reporting probation. If compliant, the court will suspend $250 of the fine. ALS vacated. ....

Acid-attack pony wins rescue animal award


A PONY found with horrific acid burns to her face and mouth has received a national award.
Cinders, who was treated at Rainbow Equine Hospital, in Malton, has been named as Rescue Animal of the Year in the 2020 Daily Mirror Animal Hero Awards.
Cinders was found dumped in Clowne, Derbyshire, aged eight months old in 2018, with burns and tissue damage from her eyes to her nose caused by what is believed to have been a deliberate attack with a corrosive substance.
She was also malnourished and badly anaemic.
The pony was taken to Rainbow Equine Hospital and had pioneering surgery using fish skin at Pinderfields Hospital, in Wakefield, by US expert, Dr Jamie Payton. ....
