A 60-year-old with a mild learning disability has secured his dream job and his first ever paid work thanks to a new inclusive employment service. Simon Quarless put all his anxieties aside as he was encouraged by the service to follow his life-long ambition of working with horses. The Basildon resident has attended Essex Cares Limited’s Ashleigh Day Centre in Basildon every week for the past 34 years, where he has been supported with vocational training and volunteering opportunities. In September 2020, the inclusive employment team found the ideal job for Simon at the Pascal’s Paddocks livery yard in Brentwood. ....
