RMHC was awarded a $2 million grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) in February to work toward becoming a CCBHC. Over the next two years, RMHC will use these grant dollars to increase internal structure, staff and programming in order to provide better access to care, care coordination, evidence-based mental health services and/or substance use disorder services for persons who seek care. The goals of the CCBHC program in Minnesota are to increase access to community-based mental health services and substance use disorder services (particularly to under-served communities), advance integration of behavioral health with physical health care, and improve utilization of evidence-based practices on a more consistent basis. ....
But in the City of Virginia, a new asset is also helping people in crisis. A newly-formed Compassionate Community Response (CCR) Team is responding to emergency calls as needed to provide people in-crisis with a variety of healing resources. The team assists people with mental health, homelessness, opioid use, narcotics addition, substance abuse, and other human needs. The team is a partnership between Range Mental Health Center (RMHC) and the city. âSometimes people just need a little help instead of law enforcement showing up all the time,â Lt. John Swenson, Virginia Police Department Community Relations officer said. âIt s a team that pulls resources together to help people in the community who are having a mental health crisis or just a crisis.â ....

VIRGINIA â Range Mental Health Centerâs inpatient programming for recovery from substance use disorder has a new leader. Ashley Toivola, LADC, has been promoted to Treatment Director of Range Treatment Center (RTC) in Virginia. She assumed the role on March 27, taking over for Dave Archambault. âI loved my job as a counselor and working with those individuals that came in for help, but I looked at this as an opportunity to help in a bigger way and use my skills in new areas,â she said. âI look forward to being involved in the different community resources that are attempting to expand the support available within our community to those that have a substance use disorder.â ....
RMHC Welcomes Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner: Mantsch currently taking appointments VIRGINIA, Minn. Heather Mantsch joined the Range Mental Health Center (RMHC) team as a psychiatric nurse practitioner on Dec. 14. She recently graduated from Winona State University as a psychiatric nursing practitioner and previously held a pediatric nurse practitioner license. She also has a master’s degree in nursing from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. Formerly working in IT, Mantsch made the career change because she wants to do something that makes a difference and gives her a sense of purpose. She is passionate about the impact and prevention of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), complex trauma and providing trauma informed/compassionate care. ....
