I m very, very, very excited. I m so excited to be able to throw this for the seniors and also go to it with the Junior Board. I haven t been to a dance in a very long time, and so it ll be exciting to get back in that groove, she exclaimed.
I m just excited that the seniors get this opportunity, that s what I m excited about the most. Planned in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and subject to its ebbs and flows, it was a learning plan like no other. As I was reading through my notes over the weekend, I realized that we are now in our 14th month of our response to the pandemic. In emails to parents from Glenbrook North High School and Northbrook/Glenview School District 30, school officials said Dylan Buckner, 18, of Northbrook, died Thursday. He was the capitan and quarterback of the Glenbrook North High School varsity football team and someone teachers wanted to clone. It was a great pleasure knowing Dylan. It was a great pleasure to have gone into battle with him, to have gotten to languish in the hot summer sun with him, Will Erens, a classmate and fellow football player at GBN, told Patch. But he was more than a teammate. He was simple, but he was strong. He was a great leader. I lost a friend, a teammate, but the world lost a great man. ....
Courtesy of Raymond Joyce Photography Glenbrook North Principal Jason Markey had to break devastating news Thursday night: Senior star student-athlete Dylan Buckner had died. “It is with deep sadness that I share news of the tragic and sudden loss of GBN senior Dylan Buckner,” Markey wrote in a statement to families. “This is a profound loss for our entire school community and our hearts go out to all of Dylan’s family and friends. These are the times when we need to reach out, check in, and ensure that we are caring for one another.” On the football field, Buckner was a starting quarterback for the Spartans in both his sophomore and junior seasons. As a sophomore in 2018, he helped Glenbrook North to a 7-3 overall record and a Class 7A playoff berth, and second place in the Central Suburban North conference at 4-1. ....
