Board of Regents discusses enrollment numbers, mental health grant and sabbatical leaves Posted By: Features Editor February 26, 2021 Gage Johnson Spring 2021 Enrollment Don Robertson, vice president of student affairs, said the total headcount for the spring semester showed a decline in enrollment of about 2 percent compared to last year. Robertson said enrollment has increased in graduate students but has decreased in undergraduate. “Some of that is reflective because of what’s happening in the high schools, and our Racer Academy numbers are down a bit,” Robertson said. “Part of that is the success of our students. We graduated more students this past fall than we did in the fall of ‘19, and of course, that’s what we want to do, we want the students to graduate.” ....
MURRAY â Finding ways to preserve the oldest buildings on the Murray State University campus has become a top priority for its administrative officials the past few years. Where some were not able to be saved in the past, such as the former Ordway Hall and Woods Hall dormitory structures, others have received more attention. Now, one of the most recognized âolderâ buildings on the campus is in line for what is being seen as a badly-needed improvement to its HVAC and electrical system â Lovett Auditorium. Last week, the universityâs Board of Regents unanimously approved $2 million in funding for an overhaul of those systems that not only is expected to improve the overall health of the building but also will make for a more comfortable experience for audience members during shows and other events. ....
