GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Green Bay’s city council passed a resolution Tuesday night expressing confidence in how the city conducted the November election. However, almost half the council sat out the vote.
Conservatives, including Republican state lawmakers, have alleged Mayor Eric Genrich’s office illegally let outside groups take over decision making from the city clerk for the election. City officials have strongly denied the accusations.
At the virtual meeting, seven Green Bay area residents told city council members it’s time to put allegations of wrong doing with the November election to bed. ....

Green Bay passes local mask mandate after statewide rule thrown out


GREEN BAY - Mask-wearing is once again required in Green Bay as health officials urge residents to get the COVID-19 vaccine and practice safety measures until more people are immune to the deadly disease. 
The Green Bay City Council voted 9-3 Thursday to reinstate the city s mask ordinance, one day after the state Supreme Court tossed out Gov. Tony Evers statewide mandate and ruled that he can t issue new orders without the Legislature s approval. Green Bay s policy, which officials first passed last summer, expired at 12 a.m. Wednesday.
Under the ordinance, anyone age 5 and older must wear face coverings in public, indoor settings while around people outside their household. The mandate expires on May 5 unless extended. ....
